This is a non-status, non-permanent position. You do not acquire a competitive or excepted service status from this position. This position is located in the Office of Mobile Security Deployments, Training Directorate, Bureau of Diplomatic Security, in Dunn Loring, Virginia. You will provide logistical and inventory support to high threat protective details and training for overseas diplomatic mission security elements and manage vehicle maintenance, tactical equipment, and weapons.
- Relocation expenses will NOT be paid.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Incumbent will be subject to random drug testing.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
DUTIES:
-Develops and maintains a database for equipment inventory, establishes a reorder system, and ensure replenishment of items.
-Forecasts short and long-range inventory needs under constantly changing requirements.
-Collaborating with the property custodian to develop an effective and efficient accountable property tracking system.
-Coordinates the inspection, repair, refurbishment, and replacement of equipment to include laser sighting systems, ceramic armor plates, night vision equipment, and tactical radio systems.
-Submits the annual training and operational ammunition requirements to ensure sufficient supply.
-Manages the maintenance of a 20 vehicle fleet to include maintaining vehicle records, scheduling maintenance, generating reports on vehicle status, and compiling and reporting on vehicle fuel usage.

Applicants applying for the GS-11 grade level must meet one of the following requirements:A.Have at least 1 full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in the Federal service which provided you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
-Experience issuing, tracking, and processing the return of equipment.
-Experience developing and maintaining an equipment inventory database and reorder system.
-Experience generating reports on equipment status and usage.
-Experience forecasting inventory needs and verifying sufficient quantities of equipment are available.
-Experience coordinating inspections, repairs, refurbishment, and replacement of tactical equipment.

B. Have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.M. from an accredited college or university.

C. Have a combination of graduate level education and specialized experience (as described above), which is equivalent to the GS-09 level in the Federal Service. This experience and education together meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.

BENEFITS:
The Bureau of Diplomatic Security has a program that allows personal services employees to be reimbursed for their health insurance premium costs that they incur during their period of performance. The program pays up-to-5% of the employee’s base salary or up-to-50% of the insurance premium cost (not to exceed 5% of a GS-15/Step 10 salary equivalent) towards either an individual policy or a family policy. To be eligible for this Health Insurance Reimbursement Program, the employee must provide proof of insurance coverage and the cost of the premium for which s/he is responsible.
All official international travel will require MEDEVAC insurance prior to departure. This insurance will be reimbursed in full upon proof of insurance coverage and cost.
Former Military Service and Annual Leave Accrual Rates:
